Enfermedades raras

En Europa 1 de cada 2000 personas tiene una enfermedad rara y se estima que hay cerca de 6.500 enfermedades raras. Hay que tener en cuenta que el número de enfermedades raras varía según el contexto y la categorización. En concreto en España, hay más de 3 millones de personas afectadas por alguna enfermedad rara; y el 50% de estas aparecen durante la infancia o adolescencia de las personas (cuando son menores de edad).

3 de diciembre: Día Internacional de las Personas con Discapacidad

En España hay 2.813.592 personas con reconocimiento legal de discapacidad, lo que supone un 6% del total de la población española. Desde 2011, la población con discapacidad en España ha aumentado un 10%.
 
Si se analizan los datos por territorio se observa que el porcentaje de personas con discapacidad por comunidad autónoma oscila entre el 4% y el 12%; siendo Melilla y la Región de Murcia los territorios con datos de prevalencia más elevados.
